We had a great practice tonight and I am excited about our team. I think it's going to be a great season.
We'll be having Saturday practices at 10 am until the season starts - so try to be there if you can. Definitely be at the Thursday practices. Please let me know if your child will not be at Thursday practices at least a day ahead of time.
Some things for your boys to work on at home:
• Dribbling: keep the ball closes to them while dribbling and stay in control of the ball.
• Passing the ball: have him use the side of his foot (towards the toe) and make sure he looks up where he is passing the ball instead of at the ball
• Throw ins: We didn't work on these, but the ball is thrown over their head, both feet stay planted on the ground. The hands go on the sides of the ball with thumbs at the back to allow for push off.
• Stretching: have your son stretch everyday and do some jogging or running to get in shape. They will need to last at least 2 full quarters and some will be required to play 3 quarters. It's a lot of running and I don't want them getting tired out too quickly.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I always have my cell. 214-500-9219.
Thanks!
Alan

Uniform Colors
Though we have not looked at uniforms yet, it is safe to say that we'll use the blue, gray and black colors from the logo at the top of this blog. I have had a few parents ask me about colors as they were buying cleats, socks, etc.
One of our team moms, Maribel, D'Angelo's mother, is in charge of uniforms and she will be discussing them with you tomorrow at practice.
